I would like to tell you something about myself :
My name is Mijnis Gijsen and I am 45 years old
My hobby is keeping pigeons and racing them . My dove-cot is 18 meters (54ft) long and has 5 sections :
1 section for 12 breeding couples
1 section for 12 couples 1 year-olds
1 section for 12 couples older pigeons
2 sections for young pigeons.
Overnight flights are my passion and I play with pigeons on the nest .
In wintertime I have approximately 75 pigeons and in high-season about 125 pigeons .
I started to compete with pigeons when I was 16 years old but I already had pigeons at a much younger age .
I used to fly with my pigeons short and middle -long distance flights but then I decided to sell those pigeons in 1995 and then I started at first with 2 couples overnight long-distance flights .
Out of these 2 couples I got some very good young couples that brought me much succes for a few years .
I send the young pigeons out of these couples on overnight flights and this resulted in a few championships like the 3rd overnight from Department Gou,department 8
Due to circumstances I sold my pigeons in 2000.
But I got back into the Pigeons-scene in 2004 and started again with 12 couples for breeding.
Now I have 5 direct j.c.polder pigeons from Middelharnis(Netherlands );
5 direct pigeons JacSteketee from Bruinisse (Netherlands );
6 direct pigeons Saarloos from Klaaswaal (Netherlands );
2 direct pigeons J.d.Wijs &son from Hoorn ( Netherlands );
3 Jac Wolters pigeons from Haler Hunsel( Netherlands);
1 pigeons from Petertje form A & I v.d.Wegen and
My last purchase was the full brother from the 1st nat.Bordeaux year-olds 2001 from Jos Quaden .
Out of the above mentioned pigeons I want to start breeding again and I hope to get good results .
I prefer to compete in the overnightflights of department Gou 8 and I would like to fly in the z l u flight with morning and afternoon fly aways .
As you can see at my pigeons : I really love the Jan Aarden kind of pigeon
