Modern long distance pigeons !!!
With only the bests of Jan Polder, Piet de Vogel and Ko van Dommelen
Many years ago I got to know the art of breeding pigeons trough my grandfather and father. Pigeon breeding and racing have become my passion ever since. At the age of 8 years old, in 1960, I had my own little loft with some eight pigeons. Sometimes I even won a first prize. At that time, and still now, my father is well know in the pigeon racing sport in the region of Tongeren.
When in 1981 I set out on my own, I started breeding pigeons of my father in combination with those of origin of Emile Parthoens, the former General Champion in the Society of Tongeren. Until now, 25 years later, the continuing successes prove that I am on the right track.
In 1989, 1990 and 1993 I was General Champion of the society “L’Epervier Waremme”, at that time comparable to the bigger “Union Antwerp”. In other years I was always in the top 10 of the ranking. Now, in 2006 I’m still second in this ranking. I also achieved the title of “National Champion” of the Belgacom competition several times. I won the title “Star of Limburg ” in the championship of the “Duivenkrant” in 1993. And also at the provincial championships my successes were rewarded in the categories speed in 1993 and in 2004 I became 4e provincial champion with the jung birds on the middle distance.
A NEW START ON THE LONG DISTANCE
The last few years I got more interested in the long distance racing !!!!
I knew the Aarden origin was the right kind. With Piet de Vogel, Jan Polder and Ko van Dommelen, all top pigeon breeders with the old Aarden origin, I was at the right address.
Piet de Vogel won a lot of championships in 2006, among which the renowned 1st West European Super Marathon Championship.
Jan Polder won several national top prizes with a climax in 2005 at the St. Vincent race where his pigeon Victoria got ahead about 45 minutes against 32000 competitors and became 1st national in the Netherlands . Also the pigeons of Ko Van Dommelen are doing great, especially in exceptional weather circumstances. His “Paarsborst” won the very heavy race from Dax in 2006 in the Netherlands and the 2th Intern.price. . But also Ko his second pigeon won the 4th national price.
Only with the right breed that has all the proper and adequate qualities, in 2004 I started building my way to becoming a top player in the long distance pigeon racing !!! .
